A fair loan
An Indian man walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the loan officer. He tells the loan officer that he is going to India on business for two weeks and need $5,000. The bank officer tells him that bank will need some sort of security to give him loan. So the Indian hands over the documents and keys of his new Ferrari parked in the streets in front of bank. The bank officer agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan.
The bank president and his officer all enjoy a good laugh on Indian for using $250,000 Ferrari as a collateral just for $5,000 loan. A bank employee then drives the car and parks it into the bank’s underground garage.
After two weeks Indian returns and repay $5,000 and interest which comes out $15.41. The loan officer says, sir we are very happy to have had your business. And this deal worked out very nicely but while you were away, we checked your profile and found that you are a millionaire. What puzzle us that why you would you bother to borrow $5,000. The Indian replies “Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return.
